THE MOUNTS AND THEIR MEANINGS

The Mounts are seven in number, and of these four are located at the base of the fingers, two on the side of the hand, on what is termed the percussion, and one at the base of the thumb, which properly constitutes the third phalanx of the thumb. These mounts are especially valuable in determining the type to which a subject belongs.

  1. The Mount of Venus
  2. The Mount of Jupiter
  3. The Mount of Saturn
  4. The Mount of the Sun
  5. The Mount of Mercury
  6. The Mount of Mars
  7. The Mount of Luna

For example, the Mount of Venus is the development found at the base of the thumb, as shown in the sample palm. If the Mount of Venus is well developed, it indicates strong and robust health. This mount denotes affection, sympathy toward others, benevolence, a desire to please, love and worship of beauty, love of color, and melody in music, and the attration of one sex to the other. When the mounts lean toward one another, the qualities of each are blended and developed in unison.
